Juvenile Justice System

The juvenile justice system has made great strides forward in developing an effective youth policy. Our contribution builds upon and enhances existing infrastructures. Bringing life experiences and personal understanding of rehabilitation and recovery to the table.

With over 2,000+ hours of intensive one on one peer mentoring with the use of credible messengers we believe we have a true understanding of what youth need to be successful. This number, along with our knowledge and understanding continues to grow daily.

It is not enough to develop strategies to prevent dangerous things, or to preach against behaviors that place youth in jeopardy. We must be equally adamant and passionate about positive behaviors, recognizing potential, and achieving goals.

With our adaptive abilities and personal approach, we bring compassion and relatability to the youth in the juvenile justice system. We treat them as one of us. As individuals with a story to tell, lessons to be learned, and futures to live.

Over the past eight months, we have delivered our program to the youth at Indio Juvenile Hall. The results speak to the benefit that intensive and consistent interactions with these youth can offer.

Our program is completely voluntary. Program participants are expected and held accountable to engage in intensive exercises. These exercises highlight how past life experiences and traumas have influenced their decision-making and contributed to maladaptive behaviors.

Over half of the population at IJH are participating in our program. The positive changes we have seen are undeniable. The visual below highlights some of our success thus far.
